Boat basin slip rental agreements for the 2019 season will be mailed out soon and are due back to the POW Administration Office by March 15, 2019 with rental payment.
There has been no increase in slip rental fees, however we are instituting a new procedure that will help keep the Point O’Woods costs down. We’ve found that boats that have been left in the boat basin during periods of harsh weather are causing damage to the poles. Replacing these poles is costly and time consuming requiring the hiring of heavy equipment.
Since this is a problem mostly in September and October, you are being instructed to remove your boat during harsh weather. To assist you with this we have developed an email distribution list of those authorized to have boats in the boat basin. After mid-September it will be used to notify boat owners of approaching poor weather conditions. We also recommend that boat owners remove their boats when they are absent from Point O’Woods to avoid damage to the boat basin equipment or neighboring boats.
You will be responsible for the cost of pole replacement if, after being notified by email of approaching bad weather, you do not remove your boat and your boat damages the poles. This could be as much as $300-$400.
