Trash and Recycling

Trash and Recycling are both picked up from all Point O'Woods properties on Monday mornings. Trucks generally come very early so it is recommended that containers be placed by the driveway on Sunday nights.

Holidays: “When in doubt, put it out.” Although CWPM recognizes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day as holidays, residents are encouraged to put their trash and recycling out as scheduled, in the event that it is  picked up that day. Otherwise, pickup will likely be the next day.

In Old Lyme, Blue Bins are Trash and Green (think ecology!) bins are for Single Stream Recycling. Containers are the property of the Town of Old Lyme. If you need a new or additional bin, contact the town using the link below.

  • Blue Trash Bins: No yard waste, recycling, or hazardous waste of any kind.
  • Green Recycling Bins: Do not separate recyclable plastic, glass, metal, and paper. All recyclable materials must be clean. Find out what can or cannot be recycled in Old Lyme. When in doubt, throw it out (in your blue bin.)
